Hitachi Information Control Systems Europe officially formed

The Railway Engineering Company Ltd (TRE) has officially changed its corporate name to Hitachi Information Control Systems Europe.

The subsidiary, which brings together TRE and Hitachi’s Information & Telecommunications Systems and Infrastructure Systems Divisions, has been created to expand Hitachi’s traffic management and information control systems business.

RTM first reported about the move in July after Hitachi won the traffic management contract for Thameslink

Now the move is official, Hitachi Information Control Systems Europe will continue to deliver services from the Bradford on Avon HQ, as well as offices in Plymouth and a newly-opened traffic management system integration centre in Derby in July 2015.

The senior executive team at Hitachi Information Control Systems Europe includes Tim Gray, who has been appointed managing director; and Andy Lumby who becomes the chief operating officer. The executive chairman is Susumu Hasegawa.

Gray said: “We are pleased to enter a new phase of business growth under the Hitachi name. Hitachi’s reputation for quality and reliability is important and we look forward to collaborating with our industry partners in the increasingly digital railway.”
