HS2 appoints nine firms to ground investigation framework

HS2 has named its first physical works contractors, as it awards its ground investigation framework to nine firms.

The companies will now have the opportunity to bid for each of the 92 individual work packages for ground investigation work between London and Birmingham, starting in the spring.

The nine contractors are:

  • Allied Exploration & Geotechnics
  • Bam Ritchies – a division of Bam Nuttall
  • Environmental Scientific Group
  • Fugro Seacore (trading as Fugro Engineering Services)
  • Ian Farmer Associates (1998)
  • RPS
  • Soil Engineering Geoservices
  • Structured Soil
  • WYG Environmental Planning Transport

The framework represents the first major construction work and the first batch of contractors that HS2 has appointed.
