Punctuality on South Glasgow services reaches 22-month high

Train punctuality has reached its highest level for almost two years on ScotRail services running to and from stations in south Glasgow, the latest figures reveal.

South Glasgow services saw 95.8% of trains meet the rail industry standard public performance measure (PPM) for the four-week period from June 23 to July 20.

It was the best performance for services in the area since September 2017.

In order to meet the PPM, trains must arrive at their destination within 4 minutes and 59 seconds of their timetabled arrival time, having called at all scheduled stations.

Across Scotland, ScotRail recorded their best performance for 10 months, with 90.7% of their trains meeting the PPM.

Alex Hynes, managing director of Scotland’s railway, said: “This latest period of performance is another sign of the fantastic progress we are making in delivering for our customers, and all across the country there are improvements thanks to the hard work of everyone on Scotland’s Railway.

“The unprecedented investment in upgrading the infrastructure, and introducing new and upgraded trains, is delivering a consistent level of performance that’s providing our customers with the service they expect and deserve.”
