Network Rail has announced the appointment of a new Group Property Director as Stuart Kirkwood leaves the organisation after 11 years.
Robin Dobson is set to take up the role as Group Property Director with Network Rail following Mr Kirkwood’s departure.
Mr Dobson brings vast experience in all property asset classes across the UK and Europe and joins from property development and investment company Hammerson Plc.
Speaking on his new role Mr Dobson said: “I am excited to be joining Network Rail at this time.
“The focus will be on infrastructure growth and delivering developments across Great Britain with both the private sector and public partnerships.
“Particularly in support of the Government’s levelling-up agenda around housing and investment.”
Jeremy Westlake, Network Rail’s Chief Financial Officer commented on the appointment and thanked Mr Kirkwood for his work.
Mr Westlake said: “We are delighted Robin is joining us.
“He has a proven track record of delivering growth through multiple UK wide regeneration projects.
“His expertise will be of real value as the industry plays its role in supporting Britain’s recovery from the Covid-19 pandemic.
“I would also like… to thank Stuart for his sterling work in unlocking land for housing and commercial developments, and maximising profits from Network Rail’s property portfolio.
“All of which have enabled investment in upgrading the railway.
“We wish him a very happy and well-deserved retirement.”
Mr Dobson will join on 21st March to begin a handover process to ensure a smooth transition when Mr Kirkwood departs on 31st March.
