TSS: Bringing Greater Control to Mission-Critical Communications

TSS Logo

TSS specialises in bringing together the technology, expertise and operational thinking needed to support communications in demanding, mission-critical environments.

Rather than looking at individual technologies in isolation, TSS focuses on how communications platforms, operator interfaces and operational requirements work together. Its role is to help organisations deploy these technologies as a coherent solution — one designed around the people who rely on communications to make timely, informed decisions.

This approach is particularly important in control rooms and critical operational environments, where communications can directly influence safety, continuity and response. Transport networks, utilities, public safety services and critical infrastructure all have requirements that go well beyond those of a conventional office or contact centre.

Operators may be managing several communications at once. An emergency call might arrive alongside routine traffic. Multiple teams may need to be brought together rapidly. A recent conversation may need to be retrieved and replayed to confirm an important instruction. In these situations, simply connecting a call is only part of the challenge.

TSS explores this issue in its white paper, Mission-Critical Communications Deserve Mission-Critical Control.

The paper examines TSS’s work with BT to bring together BT Command and TouchPro operator consoles with the NUSO Critical Communications Platform (NCCP). Together, the technologies combine resilient communications and intelligent call routing with a purpose-built operator control layer.

At the heart of the paper is a simple but important distinction: in mission-critical operations, priority matters more than chronology. The oldest call is not necessarily the call that matters most. Operators need to recognise what is happening, understand what requires immediate attention and coordinate the appropriate response.

The white paper considers how technology can support that process — helping reduce operational delay, ambiguity and cognitive load while improving recognition, prioritisation, coordination and decision-making.

Download the white paper to discover how TSS is helping organisations take a more complete approach to mission-critical communications, from intelligent routing to the operator controls that help people act when it matters most.
