Safety accreditation for South West Trains stations

17 South West Trains (SWT) car parks have been reaccredited with Park Mark status – the secure mark accreditation scheme led by the Association of Chief Police Officers.

The scheme recognises measures taken to deter criminal activity and antisocial behaviour at railway station car parks.

The stations to be reaccredited are: Aldershot, Alton, Bournemouth, Farnborough (Main), Farnborough (Union Street), Farnborough (Premium), Fleet (Upside), Grateley (Upside), Grateley (Downside), Hook, Norbiton, Poole, Salisbury, Surbiton (Downside), Weymouth, Winchfield & Yeovil Junction.

Matthew Winnie, head of security and revenue protection for the South West Trains – Network Rail Alliance, said: “It’s great news that these 17 car parks have been re-accredited and we’re pleased that so many passengers can continue to enjoy a safe journey with us.

“We will continue to work with the British Transport Police to make sure our stations, car parks and train services are as safe and secure as possible for the millions of passengers who use them every year.”
