UKRIA celebrates the best of the industry

Tonight some 600 of the most influential people working in rail come together for the must-attend event in the industry calendar – the UK Rail Industry Awards.

UKRIA received a staggering 239 entries submitted across the 18 categories – you can find the full shortlist, and read more about the companies and projects that have managed to become finalists, here.

The evening also affords those attending the opportunity to network with industry leaders whilst being wined and dined by Britain’s rail industry media leader – Rail Technology Magazine. The black tie event kicks off at The Brewery with a champagne reception from 6pm.

Aside from the dinner and the awards, there will also be a message from transport minister Stephen Hammond, a keynote address from Network Rail’s chairman, Richard Parry-Jones, entertainment from Alex Crow, a charity casino and after-party.

The event also looks forward to the future workforce of the UK rail industry, because it is a fundraising spectacular for the UK Rail Industry Training Trust, a charity inspiring 12 to 19-year-olds to pursue the range of fascinating career opportunities in rail. If you want to get involved with one of the regional Gen Y Rail events, please get in touch.

There will be a full round-up, pictures and review, plus interviews with the winners, in the February/March edition of RTM.
