#UKRIA2018 host revealed

The UK’s most prestigious rail industry awards has ramped up the excitement for this year’s event as popular comedian Rufus Hound has been confirmed as host.

A veteran of TV panels shows such as 8 Out of 10 Cats, Never Mind the Buzzcocks and Celebrity Juice, Hound is expected to bring his hilarious comic stylings alongside recently announced keynote speaker Mark Thurston, chief executive of HS2.

UKRIA, which celebrates the innovative approaches to success taken across the rail industry, has also recently announced this year’s shortlist, including categories rewarding apprenticeships and training, design, research, project management and electrification, amongst many others.

As well as hosting the event itself, Hound will present the awards to carefully selected winners based on what has most impressed our prestigious cross-industry panel of judges.

This year’s judging panel even includes the exciting addition of Sir Peter Hendy, chairman of Network Rail, working alongside other hugely high-profile names from the industry. The full panel is available to view here.

Hound will definitely have some big shoes to fill after UKRIA 2017’s wildly successful host Stephen Mangan – but there is no doubt that the former Top of the Pops host is up to the task.

If you would like to attend the big event simply contact the team on 0161 833 6320, drop us an email or click here to submit your enquiry.
