Govia Thameslink Railway (GTR) has once again confirmed it will operate an enhanced train service for Brighton Pride 2026, supporting one of the UK’s largest and most established Pride events as it returns on Saturday 1 and Sunday 2 August.
The operator, which runs Southern, Thameslink and Gatwick Express services in and out of Brighton, says the strengthened timetable is designed to provide additional capacity and support the safe movement of large crowds expected to travel to the city over the Pride weekend.
The enhanced offering will include longer trains on key routes, boosting capacity on services to and from London Bridge and London Victoria, as well as on coastal routes in and out of Brighton on Saturday 1 August. GTR will also run extra services at the busiest times of the day, helping passengers travel safely and efficiently during peak demand.
Brighton Pride is celebrating its 35th year in 2026 and is expected to attract visitors from across the UK. This year’s event will see Raye headline on Saturday 1 August, followed by Diana Ross on Sunday 2 August, alongside the annual Pride Parade through the city and a mix of free and ticketed entertainment.
With demand for rail travel expected to be significantly higher than normal, GTR is urging customers to begin planning their journeys early. Passengers are advised to use the Journey Planner tools available across the Southern, Thameslink and Gatwick Express websites, with more detailed travel advice to be published closer to the event.

“We’re excited to be working with event organisers and other local partners for the 35th anniversary of Brighton Pride. We will have plenty of services running throughout the day on Saturday 1 August to help people get to and from the event, but would advise leaving plenty of time to get there as some of our services will be much busier than usual. As per previous years, we’ll have a queueing system in place at Brighton station to manage crowds and ensure people leaving the city can do so safely. We look forward to welcoming people on board!”

The announcement highlights the continuing collaboration between the rail industry, local authorities and event organisers to manage major events and support tourism, while ensuring passenger safety and operational resilience across one of the UK’s busiest coastal corridors.
