National rail contractor QTS Group has become the first dedicated rail business to win a Silver Award for Social Value, awarded by the Social Value Quality Mark CIC.
QTS achieved the award by implementing initiatives that generate meaningful impact for employees, supply chains, customers and communities.
The organisation was particularly commended for its proactive approach to volunteering, with QTS employees offering over 1400 hours of voluntary support to local charities since the beginning of 2023.
QTS Group’s Social Value Committee was established last year and focuses on integrating social value into the company’s operations. The committee comprises 11 members from different departments across the business to ensure a diverse range of experiences and perspectives.
Emma Whyte, the Social Value Lead at QTS, said: “QTS firmly support the implementation of social value initiatives and practices that better not only its workforce, but its supply chain and communities also.
“We are determined to help lead the industry into creating meaningful change and lasting social value.”
Richard Dickins, MD, Social Value Quality Mark CIC, said: "QTS Group's achievement of the Silver Social Value Quality Mark is a testament to the team’s dedication to creating positive change within the rail industry and beyond.
“This is particularly evident through the QTS Skills Academy which is supporting young people and channelling vital new skills into the industry.”
QTS continues to try to create positive outcomes in the communities where it operates as the organisation delivers on its mission to inspire and lead the way for social impact.
