Supply Chain – Building future capacity, developing capability and creating opportunities

During the TransCityRail North event in Manchester, Skanska led a panel discussion that included Ruth Todd, Chief Commercial Officer at HS2, Andrew Wilson, Regional Manager at the Supply Chain Sustainability School, Ciara Pryce, Chief Operating Officer at VGC Group and Andrew Spencer, Head of Procurement & Supply Chain HS2 at Skanska.

The discussion was aimed to highlight how, as the UK UK continues to deliver world leading rail infrastructure projects whilst maintaining and upgrading the existing railway it’s imperative that the client, major contractors and SME's collaborate to drive the innovation needed to deliver a first class programme of infrastructure investment.

The conversation began with Andrew Wilson explaining how the Supply Chain Sustainability School came about 10 years ago and explaining the benefits of using the tools available with Andrew Spencer explaining how useful and important its been for major contractor Skanska. Ruth later explained how HS2 are quite advanced in gender balance with 42% females in the organisation, Ciara Pryce then goes on to discuss the importance of early contractor engagement.

The next TransCityRailevent takes place in the Midlands, concentrating on CP7, the Midlands Rail Hub, regional rail investment, HS2 and more. If you would like to be involved in the event, through speaking, exhibiting or attendance click here.
