Liz Baldwin - Southern Integrated Delivery Director

Liz Baldwin announced as new director for Southern Integrated Delivery

Network Rail has chosen Liz Baldwin to deliver its renewals portfolio for the Southern region over the next 10 years.

Liz comes in as Southern Integrated Delivery (SID) director, which is a part of Southern Renewals Enterprise (SRE).

SRE is an innovative model that is being introduced across Network Rail’s Southern region at the start of CP7 to deliver the £9bn renewals portfolio.

The SID collaboration beings together the expertise of Network Rail, VolkerFitzpatrick, Octavius, AtkinsRéalis, and VolkerRail.

Network Rail’s Southern region formed the SRE approach based on the Institute of Civil Engineers’ Project 13 principles.

The aim is for the SID partnership to make the best use of resources and maximise efficiency.

“This is an amazing opportunity to make a step change in how efficiently and safely we can deliver renewals in a more effective and collaborative way across the region,” said Liz.

“I’m looking forward to working with Network Rail as the Capable Owner to really challenge how we approach the renewals work bank, to get the very best outcomes for our teams, and improve the passenger experience across Southern.”

Prior to her new role, Liz worked for Mott MacDonald, HS2 and Crossrail 2. She has also been an army officer in the Corps of Royal Engineers and worked with Local Authority project delivery teams.

“She’ll be central to making the SID a reality,” said the managing director for Network Rail’s Southern region, Ellie Burrows, on Liz’s appointment.

“Her role is hugely important for this new phase of CP7, so we can deliver the best for the communities we serve and make the Southern region a great place to work.”
