Network Rail named in Glassdoor’s Employees’ Choice Awards

Network Rail has been ranked 29th in the top 50 best places to work in the UK by Glassdoor, one of the world’s largest job and recruiting sites, as part of its Employees’ Choice Awards.

Winners of the awards are decided merely by employee feedback shared anonymously on the Glassdoor’s website over the past year.

Network Rail employees using the jobs website have said a supportive work culture, family atmosphere, flexible working policies, competitive pay and benefits, and opportunities for progression as reasons for scoring their employer highly.

This is Network Rail’s first appearance in the top 50 list, having achieved an overall company rating of 4.2 out of five, acknowledgement of its efforts to become a better employer for its 41,000 workforce.

Pauline Holroyd, Group HR Director at Network Rail, said: "I’m really pleased that Network Rail is among Glassdoor’s Best Places to Work for 2021.

“The award is particularly special because it’s based on the feedback of those that know us best, our colleagues, who have worked incredibly hard over the past year to keep Britain moving in exceptionally challenging circumstances, and who continue to do so.

“It’s a real accolade to achieve this recognition during such a challenging year, and highlights the progress we've made in making Network Rail an even better place to work for our staff.”
