Two of Europe’s leading high‑speed rail engineering consultancies—Ayesa Engineering and Egis—have been appointed to support the Ferrovial BAM Joint Venture, providing specialist design and engineering services for HS2’s critical Track Systems delivery.
The announcement follows HS2’s selection of Ferrovial BAM as Principal Contractor for the track systems scope, part of the wider £3 billion rail systems portfolio that underpins the UK’s flagship high‑speed rail programme.
Global Rail Expertise Brought to HS2
Under the partnership, the Ayesa–Egis joint venture will support the delivery of:
- Track Urban
- Open Route Central
- Open Route North
These areas include the most complex and densely engineered sections along the 140‑mile route between Old Oak Common and Birmingham Curzon Street. Both companies bring extensive high‑speed rail credentials, built from decades of work on France’s TGV, Spain’s AVE, and other leading global networks.
The JV will contribute multidisciplinary expertise in slab track systems, tunnel and bridge interfaces, systems integration, and assurance—core elements needed to deliver a reliable, high‑performance high‑speed rail corridor.
