Hitachi Rail has entered into a framework agreement with Société Nationale des Chemins de Fer Luxembourgeois (CFL) to design and deliver digital signalling for Bettembourg and Dudelange stations on Luxembourg’s railway network.
This agreement marks the latest milestone in a long-term partnership between Hitachi Rail and Luxembourg’s national railway company, focusing on modernising the country’s railway infrastructure. Under this framework, Hitachi Rail will handle the development, project planning, delivery, installation, and commissioning of interlocking systems with ETCS Level 1 Full Supervision and simplified trackside light signalling for the modernisation of Bettembourg and Dudelange stations.
The new signalling system will facilitate digital communications between the track and train, enhancing reliability and safely increasing track capacity.
“This contract signing is a decisive step in our growth strategy,”
emphasises Markus Fritz, Chief Operating Officer for Germany, Hitachi Rail.
“We look forward to continuing our close collaboration with CFL and working together to set new standards that offer our customers and partners real added value. Our digital signalling solutions will help to increase reliability and capacity for passengers using the Bettembourg and Dudelange stations in Luxembourg.”
