Tube passenger delays decrease

Delays on the Tube continue to decrease, new performance figures from TfL show.

For Period 7, covering 15 September to 12 October, delays fell by over 15%. LU operated 98% of all scheduled train services during the period and the number of passenger journeys increased by 3.5% to 101.6 million compared to the same period last year.

Phil Hufton, chief operating officer of London Underground, said: “The autumn has been a challenging period on the Underground, but I’m pleased that my team has continued to work flat-out to maintain high levels of reliability.

“We’re on track to meet our target of further reductions in delays by the end of 2015 and, across the Tube, delays to customers’ journeys have been reduced by 37% since 2008/09 and 53% since 2003/04.”
