Greater Anglia launches cleaning programme for EMUs

A new cleaning programme for Greater Anglia is to restore exterior paintwork on the EMU fleet. All Class 315, 317, 321, 360 and 379 trains will be cleaned this year.

The operator is using a new cleaning product to strip away contamination like embedded brake dust. Work will take place at Ilford depot in London.

Greater Anglia’s head of train presentation, Peter Tyler, said: “Providing a clean, pleasant travelling environment for our customers is extremely important to us and is one of our key franchise commitments, demonstrating our determination to make a real difference for our customers.

“Our exterior cleaning programme is making a noticeable difference to the external appearance of our EMU fleet, creating an excellent first impression as passengers board these trains.”
