Information desk installed at Cambridge station

Greater Anglia has installed a new Information Desk at Cambridge station, to improve customer service.

Cambridge MP Julian Huppert will join staff at the desk on Monday September 17 to understand the benefits it is bringing to customers.

The desk will provide information on train running times and help to answer passengers’ specific questions. The new desk is situated to be more immediately visible and accessible for passengers in a rush.

Huppert said: “This information desk should provide a central focal point for passengers who need assistance. There can be nothing worse than arriving at a station and having to hunt for a member of staff to answer a simple question.

“I am looking forward to manning the desk to find out how it will work and to talk to passengers to get their reaction to this latest development.  I hope passengers will find it a valuable addition to the station.”

Greater Anglia’s area customer service manager, Paul Stannard, added: “The new desk will improve the information provision to passengers and enable us to provide even better customer service by having a member of staff on hand and easily visible as soon as you enter the station concourse.”

Similar desks have also been installed at Norwich and Stansted stations and smaller Information Kiosks at Bishops Stortford, Chelmsford, Colchester, Ipswich and Stratford as part of Greater Anglia’s drive to improve customer service.
