Three non-executive directors appointed to ORR board
Three non-executive directors have been appointed to the board of the ORR by the transport secretary.
The new directors are David Franks, currently chief executive of Irish Rail, Graham Mather, chair of the European Policy Forum’s Regulatory Best Practice Group, and Anne Heal, who has previously held senior positions at organisations including BT, Volunteering Matters and Ofqual.
They will take up their posts on 1 October and hold them for five years.
Chris Grayling said the new appointments were part of ensuring that there was “a strong, independent regulator” to oversee “the biggest programme of investment in road and rail in a generation”.
Stephen Glaister, chair of the ORR, said: “I am delighted to welcome David, Anne and Graham. They were selected from a strong field of applicants and will bring important perspective and contributions to the complex work of our board.”
