Thales Training & Consultancy to deliver Network Rail training

Network Rail has appointed Thales Training & Consultancy to supply leadership and management training courses and workshops.

The contract will cover administration and delivery of five new training modules to over 2,000 senior roles until Q1 2013.

Martin Arter, programme and technical services director of Network Rail’s Infrastructure Projects division, said: “Development of the national rail infrastructure requires a clear understanding of systems integration and the importance of whole life cost and effective requirements management. We are also managing a large number of complex, interrelated projects, so effective leadership skills and a systems thinking approach are incredibly important to us.

“Thales Training & Consultancy have worked with us in a strong collaboration involving our Professional Development & Training team and colleagues throughout the business in order to develop a compelling programme that will ensure that our employees have access to the highest quality training tailored directly to their needs, and forming part of our integrated management and technical training portfolio.”

Rachel Kay, business development director at Thales Training & Consultancy, says: “Our new partnership with Network Rail is testament to the expertise of our trainers’ capability to create bespoke training solutions. A talented workforce is a necessity in an increasingly competitive market, so we will be working closely with Network Rail to develop a training programme that best serves their employees and strategic requirements.”
